Listening: "Fill This Night," Clazziquai Project
Chris and I woke up early, rising from our fluffy hotel futons for a morning dip in the rotemburo before breakfast. And what a breakfast it was, especially considering that my usual breakfast consists of juice and potato chips.

Not included in the second picture is the warm misoyaki butterfish which cooked on a tabletop burner, the generous bowls of fresh rice, and the gorgeous view out the window.
After checking out, we drove around the bay to the mountain-top 成相寺 (Nariai Temple), the 28th of a number of temples devoted to the goddess Kannon. Rather than my usual omikuji, I picked up a blessed 犯罪ぶーザ (crime buzzer) in lavender. Chris took me on a(nother) steep hike up a wasp-ridden path on the temple grounds to check out yet another view of Amanohashidate.
We drank 麦茶 at a little store down the mountain and picked up a box of senbei. From there, we ate lunch at St. John's Bear, a restaurant decorated with American memorabilia (vintage Coca Cola goods and such) that serves an 海老フライ dressed with the most delicious sauce. The little shop features picnic-style benches beside the bay. A must see.
We then began our road trip to Miki, stopping at several 道の駅, stamping my book and checking out the soft cream selection.
We returned to Miki in the evening and ate at Gusto for dinner. We packed for the JET Re-Contracting Conference the following day!
